RUIDOSO DOWNS – The Young Guns proved they’re the best in Ruidoso Little League this season, finishing their 2017 50/70 Intermediate division campaign with a 24-1 trouncing of the Raiders in the championship game, June 11, at All American Field.

While the Young Guns already had a 9-1 lead after two innings, it was a 15-run third that really put the game away.

Cade Hall, coach of the Young Guns, said the performance on Sunday was typical of how his unbeaten squad has performed all year.

“These kids are really good. They started the year off strong and finished it strong,” said Young Guns coach Cade Hall. “We preached that – from first pitch to last pitch, play hard.”
Another 50/70 is being held tonight, as the Capitan Little League wraps up its inaugural season with a championship at Eagle Creek. The Outlaws take on the Tigers on Field C at 6 p.m.
All Star play for both leagues commences June 26, as Ruidoso hosts the district tournament at Eagle Creek.
